Food:
Oaxaca is known for its moles, but there are so many more flavors to the food. The markets have amazing produce. The La Merced market, located in Oaxaca City, is an extremely clean market run by women. You can eat freshly cooked food, buy produce, meat and fish.
We have taken several different cooking classes during our visits to Oaxaca. This year we went to Season's of My Heart cooking classes given by Chef Susanna Trilling two times. They were fantastic! I made Chile en Nogada the third photo and Phil made a chocolate bread pudding (fourth photo.)
In Oaxaca, you can eat cheaply, pay moderate prices, or have incredible gourmet food.
